Q. Should I have my furnace inspected?
Yes, it is easier and cheaper to maintain a furnace than to repair it. Inspect your furnace in the fall to ensure that it is ready for winter. While they are inspecting, have them also perform a Green Sticker inspection. Use our locator to find a certified contractor near you.
Q. Should I install a programmable thermostat?
Yes, your furnace won’t have to work as hard while you’re asleep or at work, and you’ll cut your energy costs.
Q. Should I clean my vents?
Yes, clean your air vents, cold-air returns and heat registers to improve efficiency.
Q. What can I do to improve the efficiency of my furnace?
Make sure any objects are 2-3 feet away from your furnace to give it room to breathe. The more air a furnace has the better it burns.
Q. How often should I change my air filters?
Every month, or per the manufacturer’s recommendation.
